What is EPDS Telangana ration card?

If you’re looking for information about your Telangana ration card, you’re in the right place. Whether you want to check your FSC application status, search for your ration card details using your Aadhaar number, or download your e-Ration Card, we’ve put together simple, step-by-step guides to help you get it done without the usual runaround.

Types of Telangana food security card (Ration Card)

Not everyone gets the same kind of card. It depends on your household’s income and situation.

  • APL (White Card) For households above the poverty line, generally earning more than the prescribed income limit. These cardholders aren’t eligible for subsidised grain, but the card still works as valid ID and address proof.
  • BPL / AYY (Pink Card) For families below the poverty line, and for the Antyodaya Anna Yojana category households with little to no steady income, such as daily wage workers, elderly widows, or persons with disabilities heading a family. These cardholders get subsidised food grains through the PDS.
CategoryCard ColorWho Qualifies
APLWhiteHigher income households, not covered under TPDS
BPLPinkRural income below ₹1.5 lakh/year, urban below ₹2 lakh/year
AYYPinkExtremely low-income, no steady income source

Landholding also matters: households owning more than 3.5 acres of wetland or 7.5 acres of dryland generally won’t qualify.

How to Apply for a New Ration Card

You have two options: online or offline. Both are effective; it really just depends on what is more convenient for you.

  • Online, through MeeSeva: Visit the MeeSeva portal, download the FSC application form, fill it in, and submit it along with your documents at your nearest MeeSeva centre.
  • Offline, at a MeeSeva Centre: Walk in, collect the form directly from the office, fill it out on the spot, attach your documents, and submit it there with the service fee.

Documents you’ll need:

  • Aadhaar card for all family members
  • Address proof (electricity bill, water bill, voter ID, or rental agreement)
  • Passport-size photographs
  • Bank passbook (optional, but recommended)
  • Previous ration card number, if you had one

Service fee: ₹30, plus a small processing charge. Keep your acknowledgment slip safe, since you’ll need the reference number to track your application later.

Processing usually takes around 30 days, though it can vary depending on your district and how quickly documents are verified.

How to Check Your Telangana Ration Card Status

Checking your status takes a few minutes if you know where to look:

  1. Visit the official EPDS Telangana portal (epds.telangana.gov.in).
  2. On the homepage, click on FSC Search.
  3. Choose how you want to search by FSC reference number, ration card number, old ration card number, or Aadhaar number.
  4. Select your district from the dropdown.
  5. Enter the required number and hit Search.
  6. Your card details and current status (Pending, Approved, or Rejected) will show up on screen.

That’s really all there is to it. If nothing comes up, double-check the number you entered, or try searching by Aadhaar instead sometimes the reference number gets mistyped.

Telangana Ration Card Download – Two Easy Ways

You don’t need to visit an office anymore to get a copy of your card. There are two ways to do this, depending on what you have handy.

Method 1: Download from the EPDS Telangana Portal

  1. Go to the official EPDS Telangana website (epds.telangana.gov.in).
  2. Click on FSC Search on the homepage.
  3. Enter your FSC reference number, ration card number, or Aadhaar number, and select your district.
  4. Click Search your card details will appear on the screen.
  5. Click Download Ration Card to save it as a PDF, or click Print if you need a hard copy.

This is the quickest route if you already know your reference number or ration card number.

Method 2: Download via DigiLocker (e-Ration Card)

  1. Go to the DigiLocker website or app.
  2. Sign up with your name, mobile number, and date of birth (new users), or log in if you already have an account.
  3. Search for “Food and Civil Supplies Department, Telangana.”
  4. Select the department, then choose the Ration Card option.
  5. Your e-Ration Card is now available to view and download, and it has the same validity as the physical card.

Either version works fine for most purposes, whether you need it for a government scheme, a bank formality, or just to keep a digital copy safe.

Telangana Ration Card List Village Wise

If you want to see the full list of ration card holders in your village, mandal, or under a specific Fair Price Shop, the EPDS portal has a dedicated report for exactly this. It’s useful if you’re checking whether your name is included, comparing beneficiary counts, or just want the official record for your area.

How to check the village-wise ration card list:

  1. Go to the official EPDS Telangana website (epds.telangana.gov.in).
  2. Click on the Reports menu on the homepage.
  3. From the dropdown, select Ration Card Report.
  4. Choose FSC Card Status Report to open the village-wise list interface.
  5. Select your district from the first dropdown.
  6. Select your Mandal / Gram Panchayat.
  7. Choose the Fair Price Shop (FPS) or village code to narrow the list down further.
  8. The village-wise ration card beneficiary list will display on screen, broken down by category AAY, PHH, APL along with totals for each.
  9. Click the Download icon if you want to save the list as a PDF for your records.

This report is handy for local verification, checking your family’s entry, confirming category (AAY/PHH/APL), or cross-checking counts with your Fair Price Shop dealer if something looks off.

T Ration App – Check Your Ration Card on Mobile

If opening a website every time feels like a hassle, the T Ration app does the same job from your phone. It’s the official mobile app from the Telangana Civil Supplies Department, built specifically for ration card holders in the state.

What you can do with the T Ration app:

  • Check your FSC status on the go, without needing a computer
  • View your ration card details linked to your Aadhaar
  • Get updates on grain distribution at your Fair Price Shop
  • Track monthly entitlements and what’s already been collected
  • Receive notifications about card renewals or corrections needed

How to download and use it:

  1. Open the Google Play Store on your Android phone (currently available for Android; check the Play Store for iOS availability).
  2. Search for “T Ration” or “TS Ration”.
  3. Install the app from the official Telangana Civil Supplies Department listing.
  4. Open the app and log in using your Aadhaar number or registered mobile number.
  5. Your ration card details will load automatically once verified.

Here’s a helpful tip: always verify the developer’s name before installing an app. It should display as “Telangana Civil Supplies Department” or “Government of Telangana.” There are several lookalike apps available, so taking those extra ten seconds to confirm that you have the correct one is worth it.

Grievance & Complaint Status

If something’s gone wrong with your application or your card details, you’re not stuck waiting around hoping it sorts itself out.

  1. Visit the EPDS Telangana grievance portal.
  2. Click on Lodge Your Grievance.
  3. Fill in your complaint details clearly the more specific, the faster it usually gets resolved.
  4. Submit, and note down any reference number given.
  5. Use the same portal later to track the status of your complaint.
